Moving FAQS – About Rainbow Movers

How do you stay successful as a small moving company?

The key for us has been building on and maintaining relationships. Many of our customers have used us many times, as have their now adult children, who have had children and are themselves using us for the second or third time. Those relationships are built on trust.

What makes Rainbow Movers different from the average moving company?

We have a history of giving more personal service and attention to our customers. Repeat customers call us and usually speak to the people they talked to when they last moved. They sometimes request the same movers. We and our customers find comfort in that familiarity, and ease in doing our work professionally, in an already established atmosphere of trust.

My last mover was terrible. How do I know that you guys are good?

Check with the better business bureau (BBB) and the New York Department of Transit (NY-DOT) for records of complaints. You can read our testimonials page , and look at the good things being said about us on community web sites. If you’d like to speak to past customers, you can contact us.

Why did you name the company Rainbow Movers?

When we started the company 33 years ago, our then 4-year-old daughter named the company.  She liked rainbows.

A Mover's Tale

It is often the case that people, especially people that have lived somewhere for many years, forget about the treasures they have accumulated and put away.  As time goes on, there can be layers of “treasure” hiding other layers of “treasure” from view and creating surprises for all when it comes time to move.

In packing the children’s bedroom of one of our customers, we were told that the bunk bed would be left behind, but that there were things stored underneath (ie. treasures) that would be coming and needed to be packed.   Nothing unusual in that.  Underneath beds are great spots to bury treasures.   Our mover found out the hard (pointy) way, that among the treasures was a porcupine pelt.  Boy scout camp?

Fortunately he’d reached in carefully.  No injury, no hard feelings… well, you know what we mean.
